Our rustic van conversion by Pata Vans was the best way to start the Van Life adventure, simple, natural, and feels like home.
Finding the Right Van Conversion
It can only be a stroke of luck that happened that late night in 2018 while I was surfing van conversions. I refused to believe that the only van conversation option was to make the inside look like a utility closet. There are a lot of van conversion companies out there. Just like there are a lot of van life blogs. So it’s hard to sift through them all.
Then, Pata Vans appeared on the screen. I was sold from the moment I saw the rustic, simple, warm look that is his trademark. I also thought if we had natural wood (not white) it would survive years with kids and pets. Pata was awesome to work with. After few phone calls, a few build drafts, and a scenic drive to Colorado, and we were well on our way ready to make our van shell a home.
Each Van Conversion is a Work of Art
I truly think Pata’s conversions are works of art. You can see the detail and thought that go into them. We have deep gratitude not only toward his talent, but who he is as a person. He is a rare find. It was a treat to work with both Pata and Isabel, nestled away in Lafayette, CO. Totally worth driving 2,600 miles round trip from the west coast without question. Thank you Pata, in reverence, for creating our Vome.
An update from 2022: Sprinterfam’s links and photos needed a huge refresh, so here I am back on one of our original posts. We have had our Pata Van build for nearly four years. We have traveled 120,000 miles with two kids and three, and then two pets; transported cargo, chickens, furniture. Our build sure looks loved but it has held up as a true beauty. The rustic, natural wood makes it so that you can use this van and not see all the scuffs and stains. It’s a genuinely great choice.
We live 15 mins from Lafayette! Next time youβre this way, let us know β€οΈ
